Why does my job have few applicants?

If a week has passed since you posted your job ad on Get on Board and you still have no applicants, it could be due to different reasons. Review these factors that can reduce the success of your job:

  • Too many questions in the application form. You can add questions to filter applicants, but we recommend no more than three to avoid discouraging professionals.
  • The salary is too close to the floor. When your salary is too close to the minimum market reference, it may not be competitive.
  • The position is not clearly described. If functions are too generic or requirements are unclear, applicants may self-select out.
  • Your position is hard to find. Some profiles are rare, and you may need more time or a broader search.
  • The job hasn’t been checked in days. Professionals can see how long it has been since you reviewed applications and may avoid inactive processes.
  • You are recycling a job that is too old. Republished jobs can look stale and reduce interest.
  • The date has not been refreshed. Refreshing the date helps your job rank higher if you have the right add-ons enabled.
  • The job category has heavy competition. In high-demand categories, consider visibility tools like Boost.
  • Timing matters. Professionals receive job emails on Wednesdays and Sundays, so allow at least a few days before evaluating results.

Check that your ad is as clear and attractive as possible. It also helps to show it to peers and ask for feedback.
