When you want an AI assistant to help source candidates, the Get on Board MCP Server connects your recruiter tools to Get on Board’s Talent Database. It is built for companies and recruiters who want to search Latin American tech talent from compatible AI clients while keeping hiring actions inside Get on Board.
What an MCP server is
MCP means Model Context Protocol. An MCP server gives an AI client a controlled way to use external tools and data sources. Instead of copying data into a chat or building a custom integration for every assistant, you connect the assistant to a server that exposes specific actions.
For recruiting, that means your AI client can ask Get on Board for candidate search results through approved tools. The client does not receive broad database access, passwords, API keys, or unrestricted profile data.
How Get on Board’s MCP Server works
Get on Board’s MCP Server is a remote, OAuth-authenticated server at https://www.getonbrd.com/mcp. You paste that URL into a compatible MCP client, sign in to Get on Board in the browser, choose the company context you want to authorize, and approve the requested access.
The server currently exposes two recruiter tools:
whoami: confirms your Get on Board identity, active company, granted scopes, and available tools.search_talent: searches Talent Database from a natural-language brief of the ideal candidate.
The server is designed for recruiter team members with accepted company access. Talent Database availability depends on the company context and plan you authorize.
What you can do with it
Use the MCP Server when you want your assistant to help with candidate discovery:
- Search for professionals by role, stack, seniority, country, English level, salary range, industry background, or other criteria you describe in plain text.
- Ask your assistant to refine a search, compare returned profiles, or build a shortlist from the safe candidate summaries.
- Open Get on Board profile links to review full details in the web app.
- Continue the normal recruiting workflow in Get on Board after you identify promising candidates.
The MCP Server returns profile links and safe summaries. Contact details, CV files, WhatsApp, and social URLs are not returned through MCP. Unlocking contact information, spending credits, sending invitations, and managing hiring processes still happen in Get on Board.
Supported clients
The same remote server URL can work with any compatible MCP client that supports remote servers with OAuth. Get on Board has setup guides for:
