The Role

Your job is to focus on building our platform that drives our second part of the equation. Our platform helps people start, launch and operate a home service business by providing owners with tools, content, training and other resources. Here is what you’ll do…

Collaborate on the product roadmap around Main Street’s approach to serving customers and drafting product documents and plans. Understand and collaborate on product roadmap with product & marketing teams.

Define and analyze KPIs, both input and output metric frameworks, that inform the success of our tooling and training products

Build a team of freelancer and contract engineers in your local area to support our eight person product team, help Main Street evolve from 2 to 25 engineers and 100x user scale. Develop best-in-class procedures ensuring quality standards are met and maintained. • Build upon a strong culture of best practices of technical ownership and accountability (code reviews, testing, design reviews).

Qualifications and requirements

Ideal Candidate Will Have…

  • 5-10 years of top-tier professional experience, likely with some combination of and/or venture-backed operating experiences
  • An entrepreneurial mindset: drive to deliver results coupled with scrappiness to accomplish big goals as part of a small team
  • Superior analytical skills and attention to detail; data-driven mentality
  • Exceptional organizational skills with ability to prioritize work based on business and operational need
  • Comfort with ambiguity
  • Low ego / learning oriented

Who you are

  • We’re looking for someone who has experience building a 0-1 product, even if it’s a new product within a larger company.
  • High-energy individual who is driven to succeed – by business objectives but also the mission of the organization, and via teammates and colleagues
  • 5+ years of relevant professional experience, preferably working with Platform, or Marketplace organizations.
  • 5+ years in engineering management at a lean / agile organization, experience with remote is a plus.
  • Ability to attract and close senior candidates, strong existing network that is ready to follow an inspiring leader
  • "Talent magnet” - has a profile and track record that also attracts engineers that have not worked with them before



We’re offering a heavily equity incentivized four-twelve month contract with a base comp. Ideally, you’ll do such a good job that we want to hire you full-time immediately. Your compensation will be tied to the total output within budget. Comp will be mostly in the form of equity with an accelerated vest.
