Computer Vision Engineer in Tolveet

Closed job - No longer receiving applicants

Tolveet LLC, a rapidly growing startup based in Atlanta, GA, is spearheading innovation in the aggregates and mining industry with cutting-edge 3D machine vision technologies. Despite being in operation for less than a year, the company has seen significant growth and is keen on assembling a premier technical team with a focus on computer vision.
We are in search of a highly driven Computer Vision/Machine Learning (CV/ML) engineer. The ideal candidate should have extensive experience in developing and implementing efficient, low-latency algorithms for processing dense 3D point clouds, particularly with edge computing. This intermediate-level position emphasizes the application of machine vision and data processing expertise in developing prototypes, proofs of concept, and more, primarily focusing on 3D point clouds derived from stereo camera depth streams.

Responsabilities

  • Design, develop, implement, and evaluate novel computer vision and machine learning algorithms as applied to sensors and machinery in the aggregates and mining sector.
  • Design and implement algorithms for object classification, object velocity estimation and volumetric calculations based on 3D point cloud data.
  • Perform training, tuning, and hyperparameter optimization on deep learning models suitable for implementation on edge devices
  • Work closely with software and hardware teams to implement efficient real-time algorithms realizable in edge devices in embedded software.

Qualifications and requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, or Computer Engineering, or an equivalent educational background.
  • At least 1 year of relevant professional experience or a comparable combination of education and experience.
  • Demonstrated expertise in machine vision and image processing techniques.
  • Strong familiarity with 3D and stereo sensors is highly advantageous.
  • Motivated individual with a deep understanding of developing and implementing fast, low-latency algorithms for processing dense 3D point clouds, particularly in edge computing environments.
  • Proven experience in crafting and deploying efficient Computer Vision (CV) and Machine Learning (ML) algorithms tailored for computer vision applications.
  • Fluent in Python programming.

Desirable skills

  • Knowledge of iterative closest point (ICP) algorithms, Ray Casting, and point cloud segmentation.
  • Experience with volumetric calculations and the ability to implement these calculations efficiently in software.
